Educational Activities and Dissemination in Science

The Higher Technical Professional Course (CTeSP) in Educational Activities and Dissemination in Science is part of a new type of short-term higher education, corresponding to an educational offer of a professional nature, placed at level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.

Through this course two important objectives will be achieved: (i) to privilege students’ rapid integration into the labour market; ii) to allow the continuation of studies, keeping a direct connection to the first cycle of higher education (bachelor’s degree).

The course aims at the training of a professional who, autonomously or integrated into teams, is able to promote recreational activities for children and youth in the areas of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, contributing to their personal and educational development and promoting simultaneously the dissemination of those scientific areas.

Thus, it is fundamental:

  • to plan educational activities and dissemination in Mathematics and Natural Sciences within a recreational context in schools and institutions of diverse nature;
  • to plan and design educational resources to support educational activities and dissemination in Science;
  • to manage institutional relations with schools and institutions of diverse nature, concerning the organization of educational activities and dissemination in Science;
  • to coordinate teams of professionals who intervene in schools and other places, as far as the development of educational activities and dissemination in Science is concerned;
  • to implement educational activities and dissemination in Science aimed at children and youth, promoting their personal and educational development.


Bachelor's degree in the School of Education of Viseu to pursue studies:

  • Basic Education.

The students enrolled in the CTeSP are covered by direct and indirect welfare benefits (scholarships, accommodation, meals), in the same terms as the other higher education students.
